Interview with Director of CMMI, Liz Fowler

On September 30, 2024, Ryan Morley of SpringTide hosted a virtual interview with Dr. Liz Fowler, Director of the CMS Innovation Center, to complement the in-person policy innovation discussion at the Wave 2024 conference later that week. Liz provided insights into the Innovation Center's strategy and approach and ways to engage in the Center's work.

Some of the highlights include:

• 2030 Goal: an update on the progress toward CMS's value-based care goals for 2030.

• Partnering for System Transformation: emphasized the importance and current efforts to collaborate with other payers, including state governments and private insurers. 

• Role of Specialty Care: highlighted the need to innovate around specialty care delivery and payment models to ensure these services are accessible and effectively integrated into the overall care continuum.
